"We will be doing that. We will be selling F-35s," Trump told reporters when asked if Washington would agree to sell Riyadh the jets at Tuesday's meeting. "They've been a great ally," he added.

A peace plan authorizes the creation of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) that would work with Israel and Egypt and newly trained Palestinian police to help secure border areas and demilitarize the Gaza Strip.

The draft, which has been revised several times as a result of high-stakes negotiations, "endorses" the plan, which allowed for a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas to take hold on October 10 in the war-wracked Palestinian territory.

With a ceasefire having been brokered in the Palestinian enclave in October, President Prabowo Subianto is seeking to make good on the pledge he delivered at the UN General Assembly in September to send some 20,000 troops on a peacekeeping mission.

The United States and several Arab and Muslim-majority nations including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey called Friday for the UNSC to quickly adopt the resolution.

A draft of the resolution seen Thursday by AFP "welcomes the establishment of the Board of Peace," a transitional governing body for Gaza, which Trump would theoretically chair, with a mandate running until the end of 2027.

Prabowo and Abdullah share a decades-long personal friendship that dates back to at least 1981, when they met during a joint military training at Fort Benning in the United States. On many occasions, Prabowo has described Abdullah as a close friend and a “true soldier”.

President Prabowo Subianto has said the Air Force’s newly arrived Airbus A400M heavy transport aircraft could be deployed for humanitarian missions, including possible evacuations of wounded civilians from war-torn Gaza.

The United States has drafted a United Nations resolution that approves a two-year mandate for a Gaza transitional governance body and an international stabilization force in the Palestinian enclave, according to the text seen by Reuters on Tuesday.

Reconciliation between Palestinian militant group Hamas and its rival West Bank-based Palestinian Authroity will bear fruit as soon as possible, as inter-Palestinian unity would strengthen Palestine's representation in the international community, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan after a meeting of Muslim nations top diplomats in Istanbul.

Fidan spoke after he and ministers from several Muslim-majority countries met in Istanbul to discuss the fragile US-brokered ceasefire in Gaza, as Hamas and Israel trade accusations of violations. 

Turkey will welcome the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan and Indonesia in Istanbul on Monday.

Asked by an AFP reporter aboard Air Force One if he was considering US troops on the ground in Nigeria or air strikes, Trump replied: "Could be, I mean, a lot of things -- I envisage a lot of things." 

More than 25,000 schoolchildren had already joined the agency's "temporary learning spaces", while some 300,000 would follow online classes, according to the United Natons agency for Palestinian refugees.

A ministry spokesman said ministers from Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had all been invited.

Indonesian officials reiterated commitment to send peacekeeping troops to war-torn Gaza after the ceasefire deal between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas, but asserted the mission will only go with a mandate from the United Nations.

"At least 50 killed, including 22 children and a number of women and children, as a result of the ongoing Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since last night," Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the agency, told AFP.

It remains unclear whether Arab and other states will be ready to commit troops, in part given the refusal ofPalestinian Hamas militants to disarm as called for by the plan, while Israel has voiced concerns about the make-up of the force.

Israeli lawmakers on Wednesday advanced two bills paving the way for West Bank annexation, leading to condemnation Thursday from US Vice President JD Vance, who was in Israel at the time and who echoed Trump's comments.

He expressed optimism for a durable end to the two-year Gaza war as he met Israeli, US and other Western forces monitoring the ceasefire from inside a vast converted warehouse in southern Israel.

Rubio, who was touring a US-led multinational centre in Israel aimed at coordinating a ceasefire in Gaza, said that a sustained end to the war would encourage more countries to join the so-called Abraham Accords, under which a number of Arab countries normalised ties with Israel in 2020.

Gaza mediators - the United States, Egypt and Qatar - stepped up their efforts this week to stabilise the early stages of the truce between Israel and Hamas and to push forward US President Donald Trump's 20-point ceasefire plan.

The dozens of strikes Israel carried out on Hamas positions in southern Gaza Sunday came after it accused the militant group of targeting its troops in "a blatant violation" of the nine-day-old truce.

"Yeah, it is," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when asked if the ceasefire was still in place. He also suggested that Hamas leadership was not involved in any alleged breaches and instead blamed "some rebels within."

Netanyahu's government and Hamas have been trading blame over violations of the United States-mediated ceasefire for days.

King Salman's Gate, which includes several high-rises next to Islam's holiest site, is an "integrated mixed-use destination" blending Mecca's "rich architectural heritage with world-class modern living", the official Saudi Press Agency said on Wednesday.
