he leading event organizer in Indonesia, Pamerindo Indonesia, officially opened the Manufacturing Indonesia 2019 exhibition on Dec. 4. The four-day exhibition, which runs until Dec.7, is being held at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) center in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
The annual exhibition showcases a variety of technologies, the latest and best manufacturing services offered by key players and aims to be the ideal platform for businesspeople and professionals in Indonesia as well as Southeast Asia’s manufacturing field.
Pamerindo Indonesia event director Maysia Stephanie explained that the Manufacturing Indonesia 2019 exhibition was one of the most effective ways to help improve business and provide solutions to Industry 4.0.
“The exhibition is being attended by more than 30,000 visitors, including decisionmakers, major equipment importers, distributors and agents, among others,” Maysia said, “It offers extra value and opportunities for industrial professionals to improve their businesses.”
Industry 4.0 demands speed, better pricing and effective processes. That is why companies are shifting to using automation technology.
PT Kawan Lama Sejahtera, one of the exhibitors at Manufacturing Indonesia, distributes technical and commercial industrial equipment in Indonesia. With advanced technology, the company forecasts that Indonesia will become an economic giant in the near future.
Kawan Lama Sejahtera commissioner Tony Sartono explained what the company was putting on the table this time.
“We offer the latest surveillance solution technology using packaging automation, which is needed to increase productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of the entire packaging process,” Tony said, “We are also introducing a digital warehouse as one of the innovations from Kawan Lama that is integrated with IoT [Internet of Things].”
Tony also stressed that technology was no longer used merely to assist human resources. In the past, a company's machines were was installed behind a stainless steel fence to avoid any harm to people.
However, this is no longer the case, since machines can be better programmed to be more responsive to human interaction.
Another exhibitor comes from abroad and has had a long presences in Indonesia. The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) established its Jakarta office in 1959. Keishi Suzuki, the group’s president director, said the company was committed to continuing its support for Industry 4.0 in Indonesia.
“Manufacturing Indonesia 2019 is a golden opportunity for us to introduce our products and technology in a comprehensive way to Indonesian companies. Technology is growing rapidly, which means that Indonesia needs technology-based companies as well as professional human resources.” Suzuki explained.
Pamerindo Indonesia’s Manufacturing Indonesia 2019 features 1,500 leading companies in the manufacturing industry from more than 39 countries, such as
Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands,
Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the UK and the US.
The exhibition is being held in conjunction with several exhibitions, such as Machine Tool Indonesia, Tool and Hardware Indonesia and Industrial Automation and Logistic Indonesia 2019, as well as Subcon Indonesia 2019, the sub-constructor exhibition.
Various products and technologies, especially those adopting information and communication technologies such as the IoT, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, virtual mobility, augmented reality and big data, are presented at the exhibition.
