senior aide to Prabowo Subianto has shot down rumors that the incoming president has finalized his list of cabinet appointees, saying that intensive communication was continuing on who would lead as minister in the next administration.
Gerindra Party executive chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, one of the president-elect’s close advisers, said the alleged cabinet lineup currently circulating online was pure speculation and did not come from Prabowo's team.
"For all Prabowo-Gibran supporters who are confused with the different lists of cabinet members, we can only confirm that none of them are true," Dasco said, as quoted by Antara, also referring to vice president-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
He added that Prabowo was currently communicating with prospective candidates to his cabinet while screening their backgrounds.
"He is also still reviewing the existing lineup of the current administration,” Dasco said, adding that “it is too early” to finalize his cabinet selection.
In the days after the General Elections Commission (KPU) formally announced Prabowo as the winner of the 2024 presidential election, a list of individuals purported to be part of the incoming cabinet begun to circulate.
One of the most-talked about positions is that of the finance minister, as the incumbent Sri Mulyani Indrawati is widely expected to quit the post.
