f you love classic Oscar-winning movies, tune in to Mola Living Live for the upcoming interview with Robert De Niro, one of the most influential people in cinematic history. Here, you can have a rare opportunity to ask your burning questions for the esteemed actor.

De Niro appears on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 9 p.m. in the program on Mola TV, which presents insightful and inspirational interviews with important figures from around the globe, talking about their life stories and their climb from failure to success.

The late-night program is hosted by two renowned Indonesians with unique backgrounds: former Indonesian ambassador to the United States Dino Patti Djalal and veteran actor Reza Rahadian.

In this exclusive interview, De Niro will speak to his Indonesian fans in his first-ever conversation with Indonesian interviewers. Dino and Reza will be speaking with the American actor for one hour about his journey and his key to success.

That one of the interviewers is an ex-diplomat will lend the talk show a unique vibe.

“Dino’s vision on the network of the Indonesian diaspora and his experience in international environments as an Indonesian ambassador fit the concept of our show. We aim to advance Indonesia’s growth and support Indonesians in the global era,” said Mola TV representative Mirwan Suwarso.

Dino has previously interviewed American filmmaker Spike Lee for Mola Living Live, but he is still relatively new to interviewing Hollywood stars as the host of a TV entertainment program.

The former ambassador, who contracted Covid-19 in September and recovered over the next few weeks, says his duties as a TV host of a talk show featuring global figures and celebrities is a priceless experience he will cherish forever.

He credits his experience in the geopolitical arena, during which he met with and talked to many leading figures in various fields across the globe, giving him the necessary skills to interview famous international figures, including those in the entertainment industry.

According to Dino, he prepares for a Mola TV interviewee in a way similar to how he used to prepare for a state visit when he was the presidential spokesman: by thoroughly researching his interview subject.

While interviewing Lee, Dino initially focused on his films, but soon realized that the director opened up and became more candid when speaking about political issues. As an icon of the Black American community, Lee is well known for his strong stance on politics and racism in the United States.

So Dino, with his extensive knowledge and experience in sensitive sociopolitical issues, decided to improvise.

“As the interview went on, all of sudden, I had these questions [pop up] in my mind, like, ‘If God changed you into a white person, who would you prefer to be?’” recalls Dino. “Just some fun questions to ask him.”

With De Niro, Dino says he intends to ask the multiple Oscar and Golden Globe winner some questions related to Indonesia, like the five things he knows about the archipelagic country, as well as his outlook on life and success.

“Hopefully, the interview will allow viewers to gain a different perspective on life and help them become a better person,” added Dino.

A living legend in the film industry, De Niro has starred, produced and directed many award-winning and critically acclaimed films, from classics such as Taxi Driver, The Godfather: Part II, Raging Bull and the seminal Goodfellas. In this millennium, the actor has stretched his comedic wings in films like Meet the Parents (2000) and The Intern (2015).

One of the primary aims of the talk show is to present great minds to offer inspiring lessons, and Mirwan said that Mola TV was very happy that De Niro agreed to share his experiences with Indonesian viewers.

“He is one of the best actors in the world, and hopefully people can take this rare opportunity to ask him questions and gain lessons from his experience," he said.

Among the guests who have appeared on the program are former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, American actress Sharon Stone and prominent filmmakers like Luc Besson and Darren Aronofsky. After De Niro, Mola Living Live will invite other notable figures, including actor John Travolta and film director Oliver Stone.

You can watch the Mola Living Live episode featuring De Niro by purchasing any Mola TV subscription package, starting from Rp 12,500 (88 US cents) per month. Just download the Mola TV app from the App Store and Google Play Store, or you can also access it via mola.tv.
