ollowing the successful launch of the first commercial 5G service, state-owned telecommunication operator Telkomsel has reaffirmed its commitment to digital transformation that will favor all people, marked by the company’s logo change.

Telkomsel said it continued to be adaptive and relevant in providing changes that could answer various upcoming challenges in line with the era of continuous change.

The company will continue to provide a more comprehensive corporate digital transformation road map, with its renewal increasingly strengthening the company’s vision and mission in opening all opportunities for the public through #BukaSemuaPeluang (#OpenAllOpportunities) by maximizing their potential in all aspects of life through unlimited possibilities.

Telkomsel has renewed its look by changing its logo, taking inspiration from batik patterns as an identifier of Indonesian culture, which is always relevant to every phase of life.

The red color, a typical hallmark of Telkomsel, will be completed with a combined color gradation of old red, blue, burgundy blue, yellow, gray, black and white to showcase the spirit of excitement and friendliness.

The public can directly witness Telkomsel’s significant change in its identity and products and services, which are more integrated and customer-centric and aligned with its commitment as Indonesia’s leading digital company.

Telkomsel’s new logo was announced on June 18.

Telkomsel president director Hendri Mulya Syam explained, “We are consistent in continuing the transformation and it continues to serve as a foundation for making Telkomsel’s products and services the best choices for fulfilling the public’s digital lifestyle. Telkomsel is also eager to bring a new spirit as reflected in all commitments and the development of our line of business as a symbol of change in every phase of life. Now, the transformation road map has started a new chapter in Telkomsel’s journey, which has served the country for more than a quarter of a century,” he said.

He went on to say that the new values that the company had introduced, namely integrity, purposefulness, empowerment and excitement, were actualized in the form of more comprehensive digital-based products and services.

Telkomsel’s renewed identity and visual brand will strengthen its commitment as a symbol of change in the future, he said.

“New Telkomsel will also open various opportunities and possibilities for utilizing the latest technology effectively through inter-sector collaboration that can empower every line of the nation’s life today and in the future. This way, the community, industry players and other stakeholders will make Indonesia increasingly connected and strengthen the inclusive and sustainable ecosystem,” Hendri added.

Meanwhile, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir said, “We are all thankful and proud of Telkomsel. For 26 years, Telkomsel has accompanied every step and aspect of life of our nation through various innovations and solutions, including the newly launched 5G,” he said.

“Behind all of these, the trust that customers, employees, working partners, shareholders and the government have given has led to Telkomsel standing up as we do now and moving toward the next decades in order to achieve the vision of becoming a world-class mobile digital lifestyle product and service provider.”

“I really welcome the renewed identity of Telkomsel. I hope that this becomes a symbol of an entire transformation and the spirt of becoming a world-class-morals-based company. Congratulations, Telkomsel. Be a company that the nation takes pride in and the most trusted to open opportunities for all,” Erick said.

Communications and Information Minister Johnny G. Plate also applauded, saying, “Congratulations, Telkomsel, which has been a government partner for 26 years and has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing all elements of society with equal access to communication technology and the increase in the technology ecosystem.”

“These efforts have led Telkomsel to become a leading digital telecommunications company in Indonesia, highly competitive in the national telecommunications and digital industry,” he said.

Moreover, he said, Telkomsel had successfully launched the first 5G network connectivity in Indonesia, an adaptive and innovative step that would  increasingly accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia and open more opportunities and possibilities for Indonesian people because this could enhance accessibility and inclusivity through equal distribution of the broadband network across Indonesia, strengthening the people’s digital lifestyle, and also developing more digital talent nationwide.

“Telkomsel’s logo change is expected to become a fundamental change that accompanies a more complete and mature digital transformation. I wish Telkomsel all the best in entering a new chapter. May Telkomsel always take the lead in ushering Indonesia into becoming more connected, digital and advanced,” Johnny added.

For 26 years Telkomsel, which positions itself as a connectivity enabler, has consistently taken part in advocating the program of equal distribution of access to broadband that the government has declared, which among other factors has been embodied by collaborating with the Communications and Information Ministry (Kominfo)  by ensuring the entire base transmitter station universal service obligation (BTS USO) that has connected 3T (frontier, outermost and remote) regions up to the borderlands with broadband 4G/LTE technology. Additionally, Telkomsel is also committed to developing by phases more than 1,500 BTS in non-3T regions that have not got telecommunications access or 100 percent of the target that Kominfo has asked to develop until 2022.

The transformation journey is a form of Telkomsel’s continuous commitment to strengthening the company’s trifecta, which covers Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform and Digital Services. The digital trifecta is always present in Telkomsel’s comprehensive and integrated digital ecosystem through an array of product and service innovations on the basis of the best customer-centric solutions, sustainable leading network development and strong collaboration with related prominent technology companies and strategic partners in Indonesia, to elevate the people’s digital lifestyle experience.

To ensure the sustainability of the transformation, Telkomsel has developed the latest broadband connectivity on a periodical basis.  This is evidenced by the company’s consistency in providing the leading broadband network, from 2G to 5G, which changes people’s lives and supports the expansion of the automation of industry.

Telkomsel has also initiated various programs to accelerate the digital transformation to increase the value and capability of digital talent in Indonesia.

Telkomsel’s new look has also brought about the spirit of renewal for brand products from several companies to reinforce Indonesia’s promising digital future. These include the integration of products and services that provide more ease and comfort for the customer experience, supported by leading broadband technology such as Telkomsel’s prepayment service (simPATI, Kart AS and Loop), which is now called Telkomsel Prabayar, and Kartu Halo, which has become Telkomsel Halo.

Additionally, through Telkomsel’s expansion of the 5G network conducted phase by phase and measuredly as the application of new broadband technology, Telkomsel will continue to open the future, which will optimize the people’s empowerment and increase their contribution to the growth of the nation as a global economic force  by collaborating with other technology companies and providers of digital platforms at home and abroad.

Equal access to digital connectivity

Telkomsel will also maintain and develop various excellent initiatives to support the strengthening of national digital capability by continually promoting equal access to digital connectivity so as to reach remote areas, particularly regions where Telkomsel’s broadband network service is not yet available.

The initiatives include a program focusing on providing ease for students engaged in distance learning,  Supporting programs for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as the driving force of the nation’s economy through the  scaling up of digital capability and providing platforms and digital talent development programs to make them more able as smart digitalpreneurs.

Telkomsel gives an assurance that it will provide more breakthroughs and across-industry collaboration that will provide positive and sustainable results. These include by strengthening strategic initiative partnerships along with Gojek, one of which is to focus on developing the mobile gaming industry.

A variety of new app-based digital solutions will also be available for the public, such as Kuncie, an edutech app platform that enables experienced mentors from various fields to share insights on developing digital creative-based business.

Kuncie also enables the user to “upskill” and “re-skill” through four excellent services, namely practical learning content from local dedicated mentors, on-demand mentoring sessions that will help answer specific questions from every user, attractive learning mechanisms, which will motivate users to keep learning, and interaction between users and mentors, supported by chat feature I the app platform.
