ollowing the successful launch of APL Mengajar in Semarang, PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL), Indonesia’s leading healthcare services company, continued with a similar program in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara as part of the company’s support of students in Indonesia.
The APL Mengajar in Labuan Bajo was held on Aug. 7 to benefit the students of SDN 01 Labuan Bajo with elementary students of SD Labuan Bajo 1 on Jl Mutiara.
APL Mengajar is an educational initiative led by APL leaders that encourages elementary students to dream big.
The program is initiated under APL’s Nurturing Talent pillar, one of four sustainability pillars that not only guide the company’s operations, but also drive initiatives that make a positive and lasting impact on society.
The company’s other pillars are Improving Health Outcomes, Respecting the Environment and Setting the Highest Standards of Integrity.
APL Mengajar demonstrates the company’s reaffirmed commitment to sustainability by integrating it into all aspects of its operations.
During the event in Labuan Bajo, APL president director Christophe Piganiol said, “At APL, sustainability has been embedded in our heart to run the business. Through APL Mengajar, we aim to empower the younger generation, instill environmental consciousness and contribute to Indonesia’s vision for a healthier and more prosperous nation.”
Apart from the sharing session, the event also featured a book and vitamin donation drive put on by APL leaders, further supporting the students’ educational and health needs.
During the activity, APL Leaders inspired more than 140 students from 4th to 6th grade to dream big and set ambitious goals, fostering curiosity and passion through engaging learning sessions and APL Dream Card distribution.
Meanwhile, SDN 1 Labuhan Bajo headmaster Elisabeth Verti Loyola, S.Pd said, "I am very enthusiastic about the APL Mengajar activity carried out by PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari, as one of the companies that operates in the pharmaceutical industry. I hope that in the future, other companies can follow suit. The children were also entertained by this activity today."
Under the APL Mengajar Initiative, APL intends to support more than 1,000 students in another 9 cities across Indonesia, including Jakarta, Tangerang, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Denpasar, Makassar and others.
