Andaz Bali welcomes Marc Walz as new hotel manager

A

ndaz Bali has recently appointed Marc Walz as its new hotel manager. Marc is a seasoned hotelier with two decades of experience in the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Germany, United Arab Emirates, China, Vietnam and now Bali.

Originally from Germany, Marc comes from a food and beverage background and has worked in Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt before being appointed as the new manager of Andaz. As the hotel manager, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the resort, including 127 rooms, 22 villas, five restaurants and four meeting rooms.

Most recently, he served as the hotel manager of Park Hyatt Saigon, an award-winning hotel in Vietnam. Andaz Bali will be his second resort to lead after Park Hyatt Sanya, China, where he was hotel manager from 2018 to 2020.

“The biggest pleasure from my job is hosting guests and mentoring the young hoteliers,” he said, reflecting on his own experience growing up in a tight-knit family and how he was brought up. His love for people is also what brings Marc to the island. “The Balinese are among the kindest people I’ve met,” he added.

“Andaz Bali is a wonderful addition to Sanur, with its strong modern-village concept and homely grounds that reflect Sanur’s character,” said Marc about the hotel itself. Andaz Bali was first envisioned as a modern Balinese village, weaving traditional and contemporary elements of the island, located in one of the most sought-out tourist destinations on the island.
