he Bali Police arrested an app-based motorcycle taxi driver in Pasuruan, East Java on Tuesday for the alleged rape of a Brazilian national on the resort island.
Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said that the suspect, a native of Jember in East Java, fled the island on a bus.
Jansen said that the suspect tried to escape immediately after the alleged crime. "Our detectives got information that he was going to his uncle's house in Pasuruan," Jansen said on Wednesday. The alleged crime had also gone viral on social media.
The crime allegedly happened against the 26-year-old Brazilian woman on Monday at around 5 a.m. in an empty plot of land on Jl. Nyangnyang, Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung. The victim ordered the ride and was picked up by the suspect. (dre)
