ans of the action police procedural drama NCIS may already recognize actor Michael Weatherly as special agent Anthony DiNozzo. Following his retirement from the 13-season TV series, he is set to return as a trial consultant in Bull, which is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 21 on RTL CBS Entertainment HD simultaneously in the US and Indonesia.
Bull is inspired by the early career of Dr. Phillip McGraw as founder of one of the most successful trial consulting firms, Courtroom Sciences Inc. (CSI), which handled numerous clients from Fortune 500 companies to Oprah Winfrey. Playing as Dr. Jason Bull, Weatherly will portray the mastermind who combines psychology, human intuition and high-tech data to analyze the jurors, attorneys, witnesses and suspects on the decisions they make. Bull does not work alone; he recruits an expert team dubbed Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC).
“What makes the trial consultants interesting is they see what you don’t even think about,” Weatherly said in a press release. “Dr. Bull pays attention to the jurors and see everyone’s identity, including the judges, attorneys, witnesses and defendants. Bull tries to imagine what is on everyone’s mind.”

When being asked about the comparison between the character in the series and reality, Dr. Phil McGraw told The Hollywood Reporter, “It is not autobiographical nor biographical; it is ‘inspired by’. This is fiction.”
Other actors featured in Bull include Freddy Rodriguez, Jenewa Carr, Annabelle Attanasio, Chris Jackson and Jaime Lee Kirchner. McGraw himself and famous movie director Steven Spielberg reportedly joined a team of eight executive producers for the series. (kes)
