American restaurant chain Hooters is slated to open branches in Kemang, South Jakarta, in December and Bali in 2017.
Hooters Jakarta general manager Sherry Suradji confirmed the news to The Jakarta Post via a phone interview. "Hooters is a sports bar and we will offer a similar concept here," Sherry said.

The restaurant will serve similar food and beverages as its US flagship stores. Sherry also said the restaurant was currently in the process of recruiting Hooters girls, the restaurant's iconic sexy waitresses.
"They will follow standardized training procedures," she said, adding that there will be adjustments to the Indonesian Hooters uniforms. "The uniforms will be different, but they will still feature a sports look."
Sherry said the company realized there would be some controversy surrounding the opening of Hooters in Indonesia.
"But we will follow all the procedures and make adjustments according to our country's social norms. Just wait and see." (kes)
