midst all the bestselling, high-profile innovations, tech companies still occasionally aim for the odd patent here and there. Such is the case of the pizza container that prevents pizzas from getting soggy.

Apparently, the patent for such a container was submitted in 2010 by none other than iPhone manufacturer Apple, reports Wired.

Apple Park cafe chief Francesco Longoni appears to have participated in its design. The pizza container is round in shape, made of recycled materials, and has air vents that let moisture escape. This helps to prevent the oil in the pizza from solidifying.

This might seem trivial coming from one of the world’s top tech companies, but it is in fact part of an initiative that will be implemented in the new Apple Park, the forthcoming headquarters of Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California. The goal is to have an environment that would motivate engineers, designers, and even cafe managers to always aspire for innovation and quality.

And of course, anything that concerns hot, non-soggy pizza is always a pursuit worth undertaking.
