egendary comedian Cahyono passed away on Thursday at the age of 65. He was known as an actor and member of popular comedy troupe Jayakarta Group.
People expressed their condolences upon hearing the news, including cast members of Indonesia Lawak Klub (Comedy Club Indonesia), Kang Maman, and one of Srimulat group's senior comedians, Tessy.
"Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun. The big family of @PP_PaSKI [Indonesian Comedian Artists Association Committee] expresses most sincere condolences on the passing of comedian H. Cahyono [Jayakarta Group],” tweeted Kang Maman.

Meanwhile, Tessy shared how Cahyono was a devoted family man. “He was also kind to his comedian friends,” he told Antara news agency.
Born in Banyuwangi on Dec. 26, 1951, Cahyono joined the Jayakarta Group alongside other seasoned comedians, namely Jojon, Esther and Uuk.
He also starred in films in the 1970s and 1980s, among them were Lantai Berdarah (Bloody Floor), Raja Copet (King of Bandit), Apa ini Apa itu (What’s This What’s That) and Barang Antik (Antique Items). (wir/kes)
