Ramadhan recipe: Hotel Santika Premiere Slipi Jakarta's lychee lemongrass beverage

After a full day of fasting, one can use a refreshing drink when breaking the fast and a lychee beverage can satisfy your thirst as well as providing health benefits. Lychee is known to contain more vitamin C compared to the same size portion of lemons and oranges. Due to its high vitamin C content, the fruit is also known for its anti-oxidant properties, which can be beneficial for the heart's health.

Lemongrass also contains health benefits, especially in fighting common colds that usually occur in the change from rainy to dry season. It can help calm stomach disorders, regulate blood pressure and boost metabolism.

Combining lychees, lemongrass and all the goodness of the two main ingredients, assistant executive chef Singgih from Hotel Santika Premiere Slipi Jakarta shares the recipe for a Lychee Lemongrass beverage, which you can make at home for your family to enjoy. (asw)

Lychee Lemongrass

Ingredients

  • 15 ml lychee syrup
  • 5 ml lime juice
  • 2 pcs lemongrass
  • 150 ml tea
  • 20 ml simple syrup

Method

  • Put all ingredients into a shaker, shake well.
  • Serve in a glass.
  • Garnish with peeled lychees and lemongrass stalk.
