Yogyakarta is hosting an open-space exhibition for three months starting from Oct. 10.
Organized by the Indonesian Sculptors Association (API), the second Jogja Street Sculpture Project 2017 will take place in the area of Kotabaru and feature 54 works from 50 sculptors from Indonesia and abroad.
With Jogjatopia as its theme, the event will display sculptures in several locations within the area: from Simpang Empat Galeria to Gondolayu Bridge on Jl. Sudirman, as reported by Antara news agency on Monday.

The event aims to not only introduce art in an open space, but also spread awareness about issues of the public’s utilization of the space. Kotabaru itself was chosen as the venue because of its richness in history and architecture, especially since the area was established in the early 1900s.
Among the sculptors participating in the project are Aditya Chandra, Agung Tato, Yudi Asmoro, Michael Boyer from Réunion Island, Thannathon Suwannonthakul from Thailand and Akatsuki Harada from Japan. (wir/kes)
