rom April 3 to May 31, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is proudly hosting the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Lontar Exhibition in collaboration with Samsara Living Museum, celebrating Indonesia's rich literary heritage. This exhibition embodies the spirit of unity in diversity, showcasing ten ancient manuscripts from the Majapahit kingdom's golden era.
The curated collection, preserved by Samsara Living Museum, includes writings from the ancestors of Mpu Tantular, an esteemed scholar from the 14th-century Majapahit era. Among the highlights is the Kakawin Sutasoma Lontar, credited with introducing the national motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" (unity in diversity).
The manuscripts delve into diverse themes like social dynamics, spirituality, and humanity's connection with nature. Originating around 400 BCE, these manuscripts offer timeless wisdom, meticulously preserved through generations.
The exhibition debuted with a performance of "Kakawin Sutasoma" and a talk show featuring prominent speakers, including founders of Samsara Living Museum and Ayu Kartika Dewi. Gunarthawa, from Samsara Living Museum, expressed gratitude for The Apurva Kempinski Bali's support in preserving Indonesian culture.
Vincent Guironnet, general manager of The Apurva Kempinski Bali, highlighted the exhibition's significance in their ongoing commitment to Indonesian heritage preservation. This showcase is a testament to the hotel's dedication to celebrating Indonesia's diverse cultural legacy.
