book on the late actor Didi Petet is set to be released on Aug.4 at Theater Jakarta in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) arts and culture center, Central Jakarta.

Written by Amato Assegaf based on his interviews with Didi, who passed away in May 2015, the 246-page Buku Aktingnya Didi Petet (Didi Petet’s Acting Book) highlights acting guidance and life philosophies of the Catatan Si Boy (Si Boy’s Note) actor.

“It can be read by not only professional actors but also non-actors and whoever wants to know about Didi Petet’s acting [knowledge],” said Amato in a statement.

Amato is said to have began writing the book published by Haluan Seni Nusantara 13 years ago.

Theater pantomime group Sena Didi Mime,founded by Didi and Sena Utoyo in 1987, will reportedly perform a new show during the book launch on Saturday. The 45-minute "Toxic" performance will be directed by Yayu Unru and focus on environmental pollution.

In the book, teacher Tatiek Maliyati shares a story about the friendship between Didi and Sena. 

“During an improvisation test, [when] he [Didi] acted together with another participant named Sena Utoyo, their scene was surprisingly very lively. It articulated their artistic talent,” said Tatiek.
