roster of stars including Brandi Carlile, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones and Chaka Khan is featured on a compilation album celebrating the 75th birthday of Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell.
In November, a host of musicians, friends of Mitchell and fans gathered for a special tribute concert in Los Angeles on the occasion of the iconic singer's birthday. That concert was recorded and is being released next month as "The Music Center Presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration."
Among the artists featured on the recording are James Taylor, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Rufus Wainwright, Brandi Carlile, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores, Graham Nash and Seal.
These artists offered their own interpretations of songs from Mitchell's catalog; among them, Brandi Carlile and Kris Kristofferson sang a duet version of "A Case of You," Diana Krall covered "Amelia," Seal sang "Both Sides Now" and Rufus Wainwright delivered a rendition of "Blue."
