The final season of "Game of Thrones" will debut in Asia on Monday, April 15 on HBO.

The highly anticipated final season of global hit series Game of Thrones will air on Monday, April 15.

It will debut in Asia at the same time as the United States on Monday at 8 a.m. with a same day encore at 9 p.m. on HBO and HBO GO Asia/Indonesia streaming service.

New episodes will premiere every Monday at the same time, while the series will also be available on HBO On Demand.

According to CNET, the final season of Game of Thrones will conclude on May 19, and it "will comprise six, supersize, hour-plus-length episodes". 

After the series’ end, fans are invited to watch the Game of Thrones: The Last Watch documentary, set to air on May 27 on HBO.

Created by British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay, it is “an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers”, according to a statement by HBO.

Finlay was reportedly on set for one year during production of the final six episodes.

Game of Thrones is based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, which chronicles a struggle for power in the fictional kingdom of Westeros. Members of the ensemble cast for the seventh season included Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams.

The series has received 47 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

For his performance as Tyrion Lanniester, Peter Dinklage has won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011, 2015 and 2018, along with a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film in 2012. (wng)
