ndonesian pop singer and songwriter Tulus has been successful in the music industry for eight years and is celebrating this achievement with a big solo concert tour.
The tour kicked off on Aug. 3 in Kuala Lumpur, where the musician performed in front of around 2,500 adoring fans.
This is to be followed up with performances staged in five cities across the Indonesian archipelago, namely Malang, East Java, on Sept. 24, Yogyakarta on Sept. 26, Surakarta on Oct. 18, Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Oct. 25 and finally Jakarta on Nov. 1.
The tour is named “Sewindu” after Tulus’ first single, which earned him a name in the Indonesian music scene back in 2011. It is also a fitting name for the tour, because sewindu is the traditional Javanese word to describe an eight-year period.
“When [Sewindu] was released, I did not have any expectations of how far it would take me. So, from day to day, from one achievement to another, the song has been a reminder for me to always be grateful,” Tulus said.
The award-winning pop star had held a solo concert dubbed Monokrom in February, performed for approximately 4,000 people at the Istora Senayan complex in Jakarta.
