The first edition of the Alex Blake Charlie Sessions music festival will feature female solo artists and women-fronted bands in Singapore on Dec. 7.
he Alex Blake Charlie Sessions, a new music festival with female solo artists and women-fronted bands, will debut in Singapore on Dec. 7 at Pasir Panjang Power Station.
The festival will feature international artists of various music genres, such as Welsh avant-pop artist Cate Le Bon, American power pop group Charly Bliss, British indie pop group Kero Kero Bonito and Irish indie pop singer-songwriter Soak (also known as Bridie Monds-Watson).
Singaporean bands such as Ginette Chittick and Vandetta will also perform.

Along with its musical features, the festival will showcase female illustrators working on a blank wall at the venue. One of the artists is Diela Maharanie from Indonesia.
Tickets are available for S$180 (US$132).
The festival is organized by 24OWLS, a collective manned by the people behind Laneway Festival Singapore. Originating in Australia, the annual music festival expanded to Singapore in 2011 and has featured renowned indie acts such as Beach House, Warpaint and Washed Out. (gis/wng)
