F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers will be released in 2021.
hailand-based television production and talent agency GMMTV has released the trailer for one of its latest series, F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers.
GMMTV released the series’ teaser in September to reveal its four main actors and received mixed responses on social media.
Boys over Flowers is based on the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango by Yoko Kamio that was published from 1992 to 2003. It had been adapted into Taiwan’s Meteor Garden (2001), Japan’s Hana Yori Dango (2005), South Korea’s Boys Over Flowers (2009) and mainland China’s Meteor Garden 2018. All series essentially stayed faithful to the manga, centering on a relationship between a strong-willed girl and her school’s four richest boys or F4.
Based on the trailer for F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, the new series seems to pick the similar route with several adjustments.

It starts with a video circulating that shows an act of bullying by members of F4, along with an appearance of the franchise’s famous red card as the gang’s symbol of “declaration of war”. The scene then shows a room where F4 members sit against the sunlight.
Thyme (Bright Vachirawit), the leader of the gang, says, “Do you know what the most powerful thing in the world is? It’s money. With enough money, we can do anything. We can turn a wrong into a right. We can turn black into white. We can even make someone praise us. We can do whatever with the snap of a finger.”
The trailer also shows other members of F4 such as MJ (Nani Hirunkit), Ren (Dew Jirawat) and Kavin (Win Metawin), along with glimpses of a blossoming romance between Thyme and the female lead Gorya (Tu Tontawan).
The series is reportedly helmed by Patha Thongpan from Thai independent creative and production company Parbdee and is set to be released in 2021.
F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers was among series announced on Thursday during GMMTV 2021: The New Decade Begins, an event where GMMTV revealed its forthcoming projects by releasing trailers and presenting their actors on stage. (wir/wng)
