Sun Eater releases second edition of monthly compilation album

fter its debut release in August, record label Sun Eater released another addition of its monthly compilation album Sounds Cute Might Delete Later on Friday.
Just like the first edition, this set of compilation albums will be released by the end of each month throughout 2021 to showcase the latest works of the musicians on Sun Eater’s roster.
Inspired by the trendy social media phrase “felt cute might delete later”, which is used by millennials and Gen Z when posting a quick selfie, the compilation also aims not to be taken too seriously. Similar to an array of photos uploaded with no context, or photo dumps, that people post on social media, the songs are meant to be considered as a “song dump”, kept as organic as they are.
The September edition of Sounds Cute Might Delete Later contains three songs: “Esok Siapa Tahu” by singer-songwriter Agatha Pricilla, “Ali” by rock outift .Feast and “Luruh” by Seda.
“‘Luruh" was actually written around 2018 and we planned to release it by mid-2020. But alas, the pandemic postponed it. And as we got the offer to join in on the Sounds Cute Might Delete Later September compilation, we thought it would be fun,” said producer-slash-audio-engineer Wishnu Ikhsantama on his new heavy music band Seda’s nihilistic, introductory single.
The same thing happened with rock band .Feast. What started as a whim to release a song that was not part of their promotional campaign, but simply something to release during the pandemic, is now introduced to the world as “Ali”. “It’s a song we wrote long ago that’s been buried deep, but we decided to revive it once more,” explained the band, which is composed of Baskara Putra, Fadli Fikriawan, Adnan Satyanugraha, Diki Renanda and Ryo Bodat.
Meanwhile, after releasing her joint EP Colors with musician Rayhan Noor in 2020, Agatha Pricilla returns with “Esok Siapa Tau”, her debut solo in Indonesian.
“I ended up wanting to write something that felt more vulnerable and that required little rumination. A song that would spontaneously come out. And here we are now in this project,” Agatha explained the creative process of her song, which talks about how we often look at the greener grasses in others and doubting our own capabilities.
The three songs in the compilation album are available on all digital streaming platforms.
