The popular drummer has also posted an apologetic statement on his Instagram account.

On Monday, April 17, Indonesian rock band .Feast shared a post on its social media stating that one of its members, Adrianus Aristo Haryo, aka Bodat, had been permanently suspended after an allegation of sexual assault was made against him.

In .Feast’s statement, which is written in Indonesian, the band states Bodat will take time to reflect on his actions, and the rest of the band will keep an eye on the situation and do anything they can to help the victim get the help they need. No details about the victim or victims, or what specifically occurred, was shared.

“Adrianus Aristo Haryo or Ryo Bodat has been suspended from all .Feast activities because he has taken detrimental actions that hurt other parties, which are not in line with the values and principles we believe in,” the statement reads.

“We hope Bodat will make the necessary improvements, and .Feast will keep an eye on his progress.”

Bodat has also released a message on Instagram after the news of his dismissal from the band stating he regrets his actions and promises to reflect on his actions.

“I would like to apologize to those I have lost for my big mistake. I also want to apologize to all kelelawar [the term used for Feast fans] I've let down.

“I am fully aware, disappointed and very sorry for what I did. Even though an apology will not be enough and will not erase the trauma experienced by the victim, I will try to continue to improve myself, so that similar incidents will not happen again.”

The provided remark also indicates an apology for an unnamed victim: “As a consequence, I accept the decision .Feast has made. This is long-term learning for me, and I will focus on self-improvement with professional help.”

Throughout its career, .Feast found a large following due to its sociopolitical lyrics including a hard anti-sexual violence stance. Its songs often soundtrack student protests nationwide. Some of their popular songs include “Beberapa Orang Memaafkan” (Some people forgive), which tackles the issue of terrorism and radicalization, and “Camkan” (Keep in mind), a plea for religious tolerance.

The Jakarta Post has tried to reach Bodat through various channels but has not received a response. A representative for the band returned to refer us back to the original social media statement, as written above.

The full statement, in Indonesian, can be found below.
