MAKASSAR: Maia Estianti and her new duet singing partner Mey Chan entertained hundreds of street vendors gathered at the ballroom of Delia Hotel in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Friday evening.
The singers performed their current hit "Aku Ingat Kamu" (I Remember You) and another song from Maia's previous album "Buaya Darat" (Womanizer).
Before the performance, which was sponsored by a herbal medicine company, Maia and Mey visited nearby Fahmi orphanage to make a donation.
The donation was handed over to Aco, a local girl, and her sister Salma, whose pregnant mother, Daeng Basse, died of starvation last month, Antara reported Saturday.
Local residents found Daeng, 35, and her five-year-old child Bair, dead in their home on Feb. 29.
After entertaining the street traders, Maia gave another performance at the Hasanudin soccer field. She was joined by several other performers and musicians, including Radja Band, T2 and Padi.-- JP
