JAKARTA: The administration of Tangerang regency is seeking public input into its design of a 5.2-kilometer stretch of road leading to the administration office complex.
Announcing the competition in Jakarta on Friday, M. Barnas Afifi, head of the park agency, said they were looking for designs that incorporated traditional and urban cultures.
"The design should make visitors feel the sense of Tangerang when going along the road. This will be our first public contest. We usually hold a tender," he said.
Architecture students and professionals can register for the contest by sending an email to dw_studio@yahoo.com between Dec. 1 and 10. Designs should be submitted no later than Dec. 22. The designs will be on display for the public at the Tangerang hall on Dec. 23 and 24.
The winners will be announced on Dec. 27. The first, second and third place winners will receive Rp 25 million, Rp 15 million and Rp 10 million, respectively. -- JP
