When one day is not enough

L

ike people say, "too much fun, too little time". That's how it feels when one spends a day on Sentosa Island, Singapore's most-visited playground. And that has nothing to do with age, no. From racing to flying to the top of the highest mountain, it's a fun for all.

If vertigo isn't in your dictionary, climb up Sky Tower. At 131 meters above sea level, you will be awarded with a view over Singapore, Sentosa in an air-conditioned cabin. On a clear day, you can see parts of Malaysia and the Indonesian islands. Or hop on the Sky Ride that will take you to a quick fun and "floating" tour around to see the island. The Flying Trapeze that challenges your sense of coordination can also be fun for those who have no fear of heights.

Another source of fun is the new Sentosa Luge. A fun-fi lled gravity from a mix of go-cart and toboggan, it's a fun and safe ride with a unique steering and braking system that amuses you as you can freely control the speed.

For the movie buff, drag your bunch to Sentosa CineBlast and have your adrenalin pumped by the experience of the adventurous journey of soaring up to the highest mountain, rushing into the deepest of valleys, free-falling from a peak of a waterfall or being tossed about by whitewater rapids. The whole fascinating trip is presented through a cutting-edge cinema simulation ride with high-definition widescreen projection and the incredible six-axis motion system.

Still calling attention for movie-goers, the next must-try destination is Sentosa D4 Magix for a magical time. It's a cool modern theater with impressive visual effects and surrounding sound, individually controlled motion seats that will surprise you like no other, and, of course, it has environmental effects such as water spray too.

Of course, the fun hasn't stopped there. Around 1,500 live butterflies from over 500 species in a cool conservatory and a collection of 3,000 species of the world's most beautiful and rare insects are waiting at Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom. So are those highly intelligent and surely amusing Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins at Dolphin Lagoon. Just in case you still have time on the island, you can enjoy Fort Siloso Tours, The Merlion, Images of Singapore or the Songs of the Sea and of course, all kinds of fun by the beach.
