MALANG: The Malang-Jakarta Gajayana train tickets for Sept
ALANG: The Malang-Jakarta Gajayana train tickets for Sept. 25-30 departures have sold out, including those for the additional coaches.
Head of Malang's Kotabaru train station, M. Irfan, said Tuesday the number of passengers for all routes had increased between 15 and 25 percent, including in economy class.
He added between 400 and 1,000 passengers had been transported daily from Malang to Jakarta using the Gajayana executive and economy trains since Sunday.
The figure, he said, was predicted to sharply increase during the peak of the return trip of this year's homebound exodus, which was expected to happen Saturday.
He added his office was expecting 5,000 passengers that day.
