URABAYA: The Surabaya municipal administration plans to recruit specialists through a special program as it failed to have one during the last civil service recruitment.
Head of the municipal Employment Agency Yayuk Eko Agustin, said recently the recruitment program was needed as the city was in urgent need for specialists in its general hospitals and community health centers.
She said the administration needed at least 15 specialists including pediatricians, psychiatrists, surgeons and radiologists.
"Experience shows that it is not easy to recruit specialists through the normal procedure as there are requirements that the candidates find difficult to meet," she said.
Among the requirements that were difficult to meet, she said, include the maximum age of 35 years old and 12 years of working experience.
The city administration has asked the National Employment Agency to allow it to offer specialist candidates dispensations to meet the requirements. - JP
