Witnesses hint at Antasari's involvement in the murder

F

ormer antigraft chief Antasari Azhar heard more testimonies against him on Tuesday, with two witnesses hinting his involvement in the murder of businessman Nasruddin Zulkarnaen.

Nasruddin, director of state-owned company PT Putra Rajawali Banjaran, was killed in a drive-by shooting on March 14. The murder was alledgedly motivated by a love triangle between him, his third wife Rhani Juliani and Antasari.

Ina Susanti, a witness who works as a data analyst at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), testified that she overheard Antasari, when he was still leader of the commission, make a threatening comment possibly concerning Nasruddin.

"*Antasari* said, *either he dies or I die'," Ina recalled during the trial held in the South Jakarta District Court.

According to her, the angry remark was made by Antasari during a conversation with her boss, KPK director of information and data management Budi Ibrahim,

Antasari made the statement in his room in the KPK office, where she had been called to by Budi one afternoon earlier this year, she said.

Ina said she glimpsed three print-out pictures shown by Antasari during the occasion.

"There were three pictures, a house, a car and a picture of a man and a woman side by side," she said.

That afternoon, according to Ina, Budi told Antasari, "Pak, we should stop this..rather than risking being worn out..and then there's the cost...we still have many other assignments."

She also recalled Budi mentioning, "This is not our level."

Antasari then said "either he dies or I die," she said.

Another witness, Jefri Lumampao, a lawyer who occasionally played golf with Nasruddin, said the deceased once showed him a threatening text message sent to him by Antasari.

"The text said something like, *I'm sorry, this matter should be just between us, if you blow it up, you know the consequences'" Jefri said.

Responding to the witnesses' statements, Antasari's lawyers said their testimonies' contained many weaknesses.
