ANGERANG: A Boeing 737-200 operated by Sriwijaya Air skidded off the runway at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang on Wednesday after it tore its front wheels on landing.

Risky, an airport duty desk officer, told The Jakarta Post the plane, that serves the Jakarta - Padang - Medan route, left the airport at 12:35 p.m. and returned to base at 1:52 p.m. after developing a problem with its hydraulic system.

He said the incident was possibly caused by an overly hard landing. None of the 136 people on board were injured in the accident, Sriwijaya Air's second within the last two weeks.
