AKARTA: Presidential Work Unit for Development Control and Monitoring (UKP4) head Kuntoro Mangkusubroto said Wednesday he would hand over the results of the unit’s evaluation of the Cabinet’s one-year performance to the President in early January 2011, thus dismissing any possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle by the end of the year.
Kuntoro said after a meeting at the vice presidential office in Jakarta that the UKP4 had yet to complete the evaluation, the results of which are normally handed to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono every two months.
He said 47 ministries and government institutions were subject to evaluation, but refused to disclose in detail any interim results of the evaluation.
“The ministries’ performance is improving, but of course there will always be room for more improvement ... We’ll hand over the one-year evaluation results on Jan. 4,” Kuntoro told reporters.
He also declined to comment on whether the evaluation results could lead to a reshuffle, saying it was not his place to say and explaining that the UKP4 only reported the results and did not give recommendations. — JP
