AKARTA: The United Development Party (PPP) called on the House of Representatives’ Bank Century bailout supervisory team to assert itself and increase the number of meetings to discuss the progress of its investigations into the bank bailout.
PPP deputy secretary-general M. Romahurmuziy said Thursday that it was unclear who was responsible for leading the team.
“The leadership of the team is currently shared collectively among several House leaders. Because all of them are technically responsible, it’s not clear who is actually responsible for guiding the team so that it can focus on the investigation.
“The team needs to have more meetings to ensure the investigation by the government and law enforcement officials are progressing and will conclude before the end of 2011 [the deadline],” he said. — JP
