JAKARTA: The trial of high-profile terrorist defendant Abu Tholut has been adjourned until Sept
AKARTA: The trial of high-profile terrorist defendant Abu Tholut has been adjourned until Sept. 8, with prosecutors saying they have not yet prepared a sentence demand.
“We have been busy due to preparations for the Idul Fitri holiday. We want to adjourn this trial to Sept. 8,” said prosecutor Bambang Suharyadi on Monday at the West Jakarta District Court.
Presiding judge Musa Arif Aini granted Bambang’s request.
Abu, who is also known under the aliases of Imron Baihaki and Mustofa, is standing trial for his alleged involvement in a military-training facility in Aceh. He has been accused of transferring Rp 100 million (US$11,700) from the leader of the Jakarta chapter of Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT), Abdul Haris, to Ubait, a treasurer of the Aceh camp.
