Gonzales to move to Persisam Samarinda

AMARINDA : Indonesian naturalized player Christian “El Loco” Gonzalez will move to East Kalimantan club Persisam Samarinda, an official has confirmed.

“Gonzales has received a draft contract from Persisam’s management to be read tonight [Friday night], and he is expected to sign it by tomorrow,” director of Persisam management Harbiansyah Hanafiah told The Jakarta Post on Friday.

The former striker of Persib Bandung arrived in Samarinda on Thursday evening and, if he agrees to the contract, would start training with his new team on Friday evening at Segiri Stadium in Samarinda.

Hanafiah refused to disclose the value of the contract, but an official at the club said it would be worth more than Rp 1 billion (US$114,000), exceeding the value of his contract with Persib Bandung.

Beside Gonzales, the Samarinda-based club has also planned to sign four foreign players, including Alexander Mikijelj, Ivan Jablan and Srdan Lopici of Montenegro, as well as former Spartac Moscow defender Owona Zua Luc of Cameroon, and Korean defender Yung Chul-park.

“There will be four foreign players in the team,” said Hanafi.
