AKARTA: The East Jakarta District Court sentenced Julia (Jupe) Perez to probation for assaulting fellow dangdut singer and movie star Dewi (Depe) Perssik during an on-the-set catfight.
Judge S. Donatus said during the hearing on Tuesday that Jupe would be jailed for three months if she violated her six month probation period.
Jupe said she was “simply shocked” by the judge’s decision, as reported by vivanews.com.
The dangdut singers slugged it out while shooting local horror movie Arwah Goyang Karawang, both filing reports against the other alleging assault.
