am responding to your article in the Nov. 7 edition of The Jakarta Post titled “Regent Invites Indonesian porno actresses to come home to Tegal”.
This article is first and foremost an invasion of these two women’s private lives, and the lives of their parents. No one with any sense of propriety would send the regent anyone’s address without their consent. Furthermore, this behavior is self-serving for the regent, whose motives cannot be taken as altruistic. Aren’t there more important issues affecting his community than the choice made by two women who don’t even live in Indonesia?
What is the relevance of this story to readers of the Post? And yet, the headline for this story is in huge, bold typeface larger than any headline other than the front page.
