Motorbike robbers lose their own motorbike

AKARTA: A group of robbers who managed to rob a motorcycle from a resident in Cilincing, North Jakarta, forgot their own motorbike and left it behind after committing the robbery, police have said.

The four robbers were riding three motorcycles when they stopped Priyogo, who was on his way home after work in Ancol, North Jakarta. They forcefully commandeered Priyogo’s motorcycle, a white Honda Beat, injuring him in his chest.

Pademangan Police head Adj. Comr. Ahmad David said, as quoted by tempo.co, that one of the thieves directly rode away on Priyogo’s motorcycle. The other three quickly followed their friend, apparently unaware that they left behind one of their own motorcycles.

“The robbers attempted to retrieve their motorbike but Priyogo had already taken it to the police station,” Davi said.

Police have secured the motorbike, a black Honda, and will use it as evidence in the case. “We will pursue the thieves using this evidence,” he said. “They [robbers] may face up to seven years in prison.”
