andung: Searchers have found the body of Angelina Yofanka, the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) student who went missing during a rafting trip on Sikandang River in Garut, West Java, on Sunday, according to a student.

“The body was discovered at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday,” ITB student leader Brian Yuliarto said.

More than 150 people from the community, ITB, the National Police, the Navy and the National Search and Rescue Agency were involved in the search for the 19-year-old ocean engineering student, Brian said.

Brian said that he was certain that Angeline had been found, although officials have yet to confirm the identity of the body.

“Confirmation was made based on the clothes worn by the victim. There were also her relatives who saw the body,” Brian said.

“The body was found among stones near where the boat used by victim and her three colleagues capsized. She was trapped by the undercurrent in the river,” he said.
