AKARTA: US president Barack Obama’s half sister, Maya Kassandra Soetoro-Ng, is visiting Indonesia this week, an official says.
The press attaché of the US Embassy in Jakarta told detik.com last week that Maya would attend a discussion titled “Education for Global Competence” on June 5 in Jakarta.
Pederson said Maya would come to the discussion as an adjunct education fellow from the East-West Center.
She will be here also to represent the University of Hawaii, where she works now.
