strong>JAKARTA: A group of armed men robbed a branch of state-owned pawn shop Kantor Pegadaian on Jl. Tanjung Barat Raya in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, kompas.com reported on Thursday.
Jagakarsa police chief Comr. Arsalam said the robbers were wearing helmets when they entered the pawn shop at around 11:30 a.m. They gagged the security officer, cuffed his hands and assaulted him on the head with a gun. “They also hit the cashier and the office manager with guns,” Arsalam said.
They made off on motorbikes with the safe, which contained cash and pawned goods. Losses are estimated at around Rp 900 million (US$93,945).
