Get ready to feel the heat on the stage. Singer, actress and fashion icon Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to perform at MEIS in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Nov. 30, as a part of her Dance Again World Tour. Lopez released Dance Again…The Great Hits, an album that featured her best singles, to mark 11 years of her musical career. Her music and film careers seem to go along together. Last year, her song “On the Floor” became a hit in 18 countries. Lopez is also known for her fragrance, apparel line and accessories. Film

Bentara Budaya is hosting a short film screening and a photo exhibition of German-born filmmaker Ulrike Ottinger. Some photos selected by renowned Indonesian filmmaker Garin Nugroho will also be available in the exhibition, which will be open to the public until Nov. 22. Ottinger is known as an international filmmaker for making documentaries, artistic films and feature films. He is not only a filmmaker, but also a painter, a photographer and an opera and theater director. The exhibition features photos that were created during the filmmaking process. Dance

Dancer and choreographer Andara Firman Moeis will present a work called “Memo-Lusion” in Teater Salihara on Nov. 23 and 24. In this work, she will explore the influence of memory in the lives of people. The dancers will use rhythmic body language that will be supported by motion graphics to convey their messages. Andara, a graduate of the Jakarta Art Institute (IKJ), studieddance at the Amsterdam Dance Centre and Henny Jurriens Foundation in The Netherlands for three months in 2010. Andara, one of the founders of “I Move”, a dance week for young dancers and choreographers, just received the 2012-2013 Empowering Women Artists award from the Kelola foundation.
