ational Mandate Party (PAN) lawmaker and soap opera actor Primus Yustisio claims he was not involved in the dubious budgeting of funds for the Hambalang sports complex, saying he had objected to changes to the original project plan.
“At the beginning of the budgeting process, I told the Youth and Sports Ministry to focus on the SEA Games instead of on Hambalang,” Primus said upon arrival at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building on Thursday.
Primus, who was on the House of Representatives’ sports commission with graft defendant Angelina Sondakh, arrived at the KPK office to undergo questioning as a witness in the case.
The KPK launched an investigation into the Rp 1.17 trillion (US$121 million) Hambalang project in Bogor, West Java, after it found irregularities in the budgeting process. The ministry and the House originally agreed to build the Hambalang sports complex as a modest single-story project worth Rp 125 billion during former youth and sports minister Adhyaksa Dault’s tenure, which ran from 2004 to 2009.
