outh and Sports Minister Roy Suryo said he had been intensifying communications with two figures from the disputing soccer organizations in the country.

During a hearing with lawmakers at the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Roy said he had met Arifin Panigoro and Nirwan Dermawan Bakrie.

Arifin is known to be the patron of the Indonesian Premier League (IPL), which is run by the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) while Nirwan is the patron of the Indonesian Super League (ISL), run by the Indonesian Soccer Rescue Committee (KPSI).

“I met with them to deal with the issue so that there will be no dualism in national soccer,” Roy said as quoted by Antara.

Roy did not reveal what commitment, if any, the two men had given him. He only said, “From our meeting, I conclude that neither side is one hundred percent right nor one hundred wrong. Both are equally right and wrong,” he said.

He said the government would clarify its stance over the issue in a meeting with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) scheduled for Feb. 14-15.
