outh Korean Ambassador Kim Yeong Seon said that an agenda to build a power plant in the coastal area of the city was included in his talk with Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday.
He said that the environmentally friendly power plant would be constructed in Ancol, North Jakarta. The plant, he said, would have the capability to provide a massive power supply to the city.
“We hope construction can be completed within two or three months. We, as representatives of the South Korean government and residents, are really concerned with urban problems here,” Kim was quoted by kompas.com.
Jokowi said after the meeting that the two parties had agreed to start the cooperation with the revitalization of Ciliwung River in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, in addition to the improvement of the railway system in Greater Jakarta.
“We will focus on the Ciliwung project … We will design it in April and commence fieldwork in June,” he said at City Hall.
