T

he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday questioned Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) treasurer Mahfudz Abdurrahman as a witness for graft and money laundering suspect Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq.

Mahfudz said he was being questioned regarding the allegation that Luthfi, a former PKS chairman, hid money in Mahfudz’s bank account. “There was no such thing,” he told reporters after his questioning session at the KPK’s headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Mahfudz added that he had also been questioned about the ownership of cars, “I already explained which one belonged to the party and which ones were owned by Luthfi,” he said.

Mahfudz also denied rumors that Luthfi owned a luxurious house in Batu Ampar, East Jakarta.

The KPK has not yet seized any of Luthfi assets, saying that it is still identifying what assets were truly owned by Luthfi. The antigraft body charged the politician with money laundering charges after it named him suspect in a corruption case pertaining to the beef import policy at the Agriculture Ministry, which was led by Suswono, a PKS politician.
