T

he Jakarta Police said on Wednesday that they were hunting a Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang mosque caretaker identified only as MF, 25, for alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl identified only as AIS.

'€œThe South Jakarta Police are now hunting the suspect who fled after the case came to light,'€ Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto told reporters on Wednesday, adding that the police had questioned six witnesses, including the victim herself, who lives not far from the suspect'€™s house.

The police said the victim'€™s family testified that MF had allegedly sexually abused AIS on three occasions since January, once in his room located in the mosque compound after a community project. The victim'€™s family found out about the incidents when AIS'€™ brother read her diary, and immediately filed a report with the South Jakarta Police earlier this month.
