Tubagus Ismetullah Al Abbas, the chairman of the Kingdom's legacy board of caretakers, said that the facilities would be provided by the state-owned operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport,
PT Angkasa Pura II.
'The cultural heritage site will be equipped with toilets and parks, while the square in front of the Grand Mosque will be paved,' Ismetullah told The Jakarta Post on Friday.
Your comments:
Gulliot, in his book, The History of Banten, explored the remarkable achievement of this 'supposed' Great Kingdom (which was, in fact, just a city Kingdom) in international spice trading.
Once, one of the trade ships of the Sultan that was managed by British crews was captured by the Dutch.
The Sultan sent a message to the Dutch, that they should kill all the British crew, but send the ship back to the Sultan.
The Dutch refused. The Sultan sent back the message, 'If you want a war, just tell us!'
This little statement reminds me of the common attitude of the Bantener, when their negotiation fails.
