span class="inline inline-left">Basrief Arief: (JP/Nurhayati)The Attorney General'€™s Office (AGO) set up a team comprising prosecutors and information technology experts to find and arrest graft convict and former National Police detective chief Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji using the video he published on YouTube

Attorney General Basrief Arief said on Tuesday that the AGO had hired experts to establish Susno'€™s whereabouts.

He hinted that his team were aware of the former police general'€™s current location.

'€œ[But] I won'€™t tell you because if I do, Susno will flee again,'€ Basrief said, adding that Susno had been officially declared as a fugitive.

Tuesday marked the seventh day after the disgraced former police general evaded an attempt by prosecutors to detain him.

Susno managed to escape prosecutors that surrounded his house in Bandung, thanks to '€œhelp'€ from police officers who had been ordered by West Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Insp. Gen. Tubagus Anis Angkawijaya to '€œprotect'€ Susno.

On Monday, Susno appeared on a video uploaded to YouTube, mocking the efforts of law enforcement agencies to apprehend him.

In the 15-minute video, Susno, who had planned to run in the 2014 legislative elections via the Islam-based Crescent Star Party (PBB), said that he remained in Bandung, West Java, and insisted that his decision to be on the run was part of an effort to uphold the rules and regulations.

In the video, Susno accused Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Minister Djoko Suyanto of ordering the National Police chief and the Attorney General to execute a court order against him.

'€œThis is symptomatic of a chaotic legal system. A minister can'€™t be allowed to interfere with the courts and judiciary,'€ Susno said in the video.

Djoko refused to comment on Susno'€™s statement.

National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Suhardi Alius, meanwhile, said that the force would help the AGO find Susno.

'€œWe have a cybercrime facility available to help prosecutors [find Susno]. The AGO filed an official request with us,'€ he said.
