new opinion poll released by the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) found that the approval rating for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has hit a new low.
The LSI found that 70 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied with Yudhoyono's performance. "The majority of these people perceived the President as being indecisive. On many occasions he did not appear to be upholding the Constitution," LSI researcher Ardian Sopa said.
For the survey, the LSI interviewed 1,200 respondents in the country's 33 provinces between May 21 and 23. The margin of error is 2.3 percent.
The survey also gauged the public's perception of reform success.
It found that majority of the public believed the reform had strayed from its course. "Only 31 percent of the public believe the country is moving in the right direction," Ardian said.
