akarta will soon have a new high-rise 'green' building, which will be built in a fusion of traditional and modern architectural styles.
'Jakarta Box Tower will be a 32-story office building with a unique combination of Betawi and modern design. The construction will consist of environmentally friendly materials and will feature open green spaces in its compound,' director of developer PT Mahardhika Artha Upaya, Wahyu Dewanto, said at a ground-breaking ceremony in Jl. Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta on Wednesday.
Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, who led the ceremony, appreciated the aspiration of the company to build a green building.
'The city administration will only issue permits to new high-rise buildings that meet green criteria and city spatial planning. This is a good example for those who want to build high-rise buildings in the future,' he said.
The Jakarta Box Tower is slated to be finished by the end of 2015.
